SPRING, Texas — Those who knew Link Elementary School Principal Justin Jones will forever remember him as a passionate educator, devoted leader and trusted companion.

Jones was involved in a fatal car crash Friday. He was only 34.

His peers said Jones uplifted those around him with his advice, devotion and leadership. Many considered Jones more than a co-worker but a good friend, someone always willing to help others.

“I could not have asked for a better friend or work confidante,” Link Asst. Principal Tangy Stith said. “He will truly, truly be missed. He was just a fantastic person.”

"You will be missed Mr. Jones every encounter with you was positive and brought laughter. Rest in heaven, sir. We have the watch now. Prayers for your loved ones. May God give them strength and wrap his loving arms around them." one woman said.

Before Link Elementary, Jones served as the assistant principal at Valley West Elementary School in Houston ISD from 2014 - 2017.

He started his career in education in Victoria ISD as a middle school special education inclusion teacher and boys athletic coach, the district said.

Jones received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas - San Antonio and his Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston - Victoria.

“We are deeply saddened by Justin’s passing,” Watson said. “He was a caring leader, devoted friend, loving husband and father, and we are all devastated by this loss.”
