Authorities are investigating the cause of a large fire in northeast Harris County that destroyed a pallet company early Saturday morning.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a pallet company on the southbound side of the Eastex Freeway at Mooney Road. Crews from multiple fire departments responded to the blaze, which completely destroyed the business.

Officials say no one was injured in the fire.

Firefighters say the nearby hydrant on site was not working, so tanker trucks were used to continuously fill up three large pools and bring in more water from a hydrant around the corner from the scene. The blaze lasted for at least three hours.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
