Police said the driver of the U-Haul was killed in a collision as he was speeding from the scene of another crash.

HOUSTON — A man was killed Thursday in a collision with a truck after speeding away from a hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston, according to Houston police.

Police said the man fled in a U-Haul truck after he was involved in the hit-and-run crash, although it's unclear where the initial incident happened. At one point, police said, the man was going faster than 70 mph in an effort to get away.

The U-Haul crashed into the back of a truck in the 7100 block of Bissonnet Street. The driver of the U-Haul was killed. The driver of the truck was not injured.
