HOUSTON — A man is dead after crashing his car into a tree Saturday morning in northwest Houston.

Witnesses told police the man was speeding when he clipped another car, lost control and hit a tree in the median near the 7400 block of W Tidwell Road.

Police believe the slick roads due to Saturday morning's severe thunderstorms may have also played a part in the crash.
