HOUSTON – It’s a miracle a man is still alive after he had to be cut out of his vehicle after slamming into a utility pole in north Houston early Friday morning.
At about 2:15 a.m., a man was driving at a high rate of speed on Airline Drive when he lost control of his car near Roselane St. and struck a middle median curb, according to the Houston Police Department. The car went across the median and then slammed into a utility pole.
The impact of the crash caused the car to wrap around the pole and snap it into two pieces. Police said the man was pinned inside the car and had to be cut.
Thankfully, the man survived. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
HPD believes alcohol may have been a factor.
