Katy students not allowed to walk at graduation after prank

Several seniors at Mayde Creek High School have been told they will not be able to walk at their graduation after being involved in a prank on campus.

Video of the prank was recorded on Thursday afternoon. Students said a rave broke out and those involved were throwing balloons filled with water, soda, Gatorade and Powerade.

One of the students said urine was also thrown into the crowd, but the school district says only water and soda were in the balloons.

Several students felt the punishment was too harsh and they protested with signs at the school after the incident.

"People have families flying in. They've worked 12 years...very hard for this. Some people are honor-roll students getting in trouble." one student said.

According to the school's website, graduation will be held Friday, June 3, 2016.
