HOUSTON - Teens. From their phrases to their phones, they’re cool and constantly changing. It’s hard to keep up.
Sometimes, it almost feels like they’re speaking another language, but you know, some of them actually are!
Whether they’re texting, typing or even talking, teens like to use phrases and acronyms because life is too short to say entire words.
Here is a breakdown of some of the more popular ones:
BAE: Before anyone else, is for a significant other
SMH: Shaking my head
TBH: To be honest
DM: Direct message
FYEO: For your eyes only
PAW: Parents are watching
GR8: Great, two more letters, and you could’ve had the whole word
HAND: Have a nice day
FAM: Family
FEELS: Feelings
OBVI: Duh, that means it’s obvious
SHIP: Not the one that floats. It means relationship
JSYK, (just so you know) there’s so much you can learn about your kid.
