The Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market is one of Houston’s favorite holiday traditions and for thousands of people, it is the kick-start to the holiday season.

This is the 38th year for the event featuring more than 270 merchants inside NRG Center.

One of the largest booths belongs to The Round Top Collection, owned by Houstonian, Jeff Krause.

This is his 27th year as a vendor and says he looks forward to seeing his repeat customers and their families.

“I’ve had mothers and now grandparents and their grandchildren coming to the same booth after 27 years,” said Krause.

This year there will be 26 first time merchants.

The four-day shopping extravaganza has raised $63 million for the Houston Ballet and its Academy and scholarship programs.

Last year 104,602 shoppers visited the market and spent $19,843,446.

The event runs Thursday, November 8 to Sunday, November 11. Doors open at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $20 at the door or $18 at area Randall's stores.
