HOUSTON — A weak disturbance in the force in the upper levels will help to kick off some morning downpours for Thursday, July 12th. Heads-up commuters, for this potential. Now, being morning we may not see a ton of rain because the system rolling in is quite weak, however there may be just enough punch to cause wet roads and even some puddling in the hardest hit areas. If it doesn't rain in the morning, we're likely to get some punchy afternoon storms with locally torrential rain and totals in the hardest hit areas of 2"-4". Most of us will get under an inch ... or none at all. Don't you love forecasts like this? Welcome to July in a subtropical climate. -Meteorologist Brooks Garner
