Houston dubbed the 'Cultural Capital of the South'

"Worth Magazine" has given Houston new bragging rights.

HOUSTON — Houston has a lot of nicknames like the Bayou City, Space City and Clutch City.

Well now, we can add another nickname under our belt…

Worth Magazine” has dubbed H-Town the emerging “Cultural Capital of the South.”

The magazine gives credit to our world-class Museum of Fine Arts, dynamic culinary scene and diverse population for elevating its profile in the international stage,

The magazine also praises Houston’s “resilient spirit” after Hurricane Harvey, the downtown revitalization and increased high-rise living options.

The best part of the article in the magazine is the way the executive director of the Houston Ballet summed up Houstonian’s energy.

“It’s an amazing time to be a Houstonian because it doesn’t matter where you’re from. Once you’re here, you’re welcomed – and welcome to make a great life for yourself.”

Take that Dallas and Austin!
