HOUSTON — OK parents spring break for most kids is now underway, and if you are already getting stir crazy, we are here to help.
So here’s how you can get out and about and still save on spring break.
There are some great spots in the area that are either cheap or free, and offering fun activities over spring break. Discovery Green is one of those spots. The roller rink is now up and running. Tickets are $10 and renting skates adds another $4.
But there are free activities planned for the whole family, everything from the Mad Science Show to a foam party.
If your kids are all about the animals and you don’t want to deal with the rodeo, you can head to the Houston Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Barn. It’s free to get in and kids are allowed to feed their favorite horses. You just have to bring your own apples.
And don’t forget the George Ranch Historical Park for your little cowboy or cowgirl. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids. Events include a interactive cattle drive and the great cowboy relay.
