Updated at 5:41 p.m. with additional information from authorities.

An assault suspect was shot and killed by deputies near a Buc-ee’s convenience store Friday morning, according to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office.

Marlon Bonds was wanted on multiple charges after shooting his girlfriend Thursday in Fort Worth and threatening to kill others, authorities said.

Around 10 a.m. Friday, Denton County deputies, U.S. Marshals and Denton police found Bonds at the Buc-ee’s parking lot located on Interstate 35E in Denton.

Deputies said Bonds got out of his car, walked to the back and reached into the trunk. The officers blocked Bonds from leaving, officials said.

The man pulled a handgun from his car. That's when deputies shot, striking Bonds multiple times, according to Denton County officials.

Bonds was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office said no civilians or deputies were injured.
