FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be aware of a new batch of scam calls where individuals are posing as Fort Bend deputies and other law enforcement to solicit money.

FBCSO said these individuals are claiming the person they called has an open case against them, an active warrant or has missed jury. Then the scammers ask for money in the form of gift cards or money orders.

“Law enforcement will never call you and solicit money over the phone…EVER,” FBCSO wrote on a Facebook post.

FBCSO said never send money to someone who calls you over the phone or reaches out to you online.
