KATY, Texas — Officials said two toddlers are in "extremely critical" condition following two separate near-drownings Monday evening in Katy.
Both involved 2-year-old girls found unresponsive in family pools, one on Windcross Court around 5:40 p.m. Monday and another at Paintbrush Dawn Court around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said the child on Paintbrush Dawn Court was found floating in a hot tub during a family get-together. The child on Windcross Court was pulled from a family pool.
Since the two incidents, local officials continue reminding Houston-area residents to take precautions in preventing children from drowning.
