New Houston course teaches how to grow medical marijuana, costs $420

Organizers say their goal is to provide students “with the most comprehensive information available on the subject of the medicinal cannabis industry."

HOUSTON — A five-week seminar marketed toward entrepreneurs in the growing U.S. cannabis industry is coming to Houston.

According to its website, starting Jan. 12 The Houston Academy of Cannabis Science will host weekly medical marijuana classes on Westglen Drive.

It’s probably no coincidence that tickets cost $420.

Even with the steep price tag, the Houston Chronicle reported that as of Tuesday morning only 15 of 50 seats were still available for the seminars that begin Jan. 12, according to the organizers.

On the event’s website, organizers say their goal is to provide students “with the most comprehensive information available on the subject of the medicinal cannabis industry; to apprise them of all of the legal ramifications and introduce them to the rapidly emerging medical cannabis industry.”
