HOUSTON — A Houston-based company is recalling sandwich wraps and salads due to concerns of listeria contamination.

Great American Marketing, Inc. is recalling approximately 3,329 pounds of ready-to-eat wraps and salads produced from March 27 to April 8. These products include:

  • 9.25-oz. plastic sealed cartons containing “corner store market CAESAR SALAD WITH GRILLED CHICKEN & CAESAR DRESSING” with sell by dates of 04/09/19 to 04/15/19
  • 10.25-oz. plastic sealed cartons containing “corner store market CHEF SALAD TURKEY, HAM & CHEESE, WITH RANCH DRESSING” with sell by dates of 04/09/19 to 04/15/19

  • 7.4-oz. plastic sealed carton containing “corner store market CHICKEN CAESAR WRAP Chicken Strips & Cheese with Caesar Dressing” with sell by dates of 04/08/18 to 4/20/19

The products recalled have establishment numbers “EST. 31680” or “P-31680” inside the USDA mark of inspection and were shipped to retail locations in Texas.

Officials discovered the issue with the products when the FDA notified the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service that routine testing of a shared processing area was confirmed positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Officials said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions after consuming these products, but they urge anyone concerned about an illness or injury to contact their healthcare provider.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, as well as diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. Pregnant women, older adults or those with weakened immune systems who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care.
