With concerns about chemicals in laundry detergent, more people are warming up to different methods of washing clothes. One option is the Eco Egg Laundry Egg.
We recruited Vicky Yip from Houston Moms Blog to help us test the laundry egg. Vicky already uses wool balls in her dryer and was considering a detergent switch.
We bought an Eco Egg Laundry Egg “with a hint of Spring Blossom” scent. The egg-shaped container holds mineral pellets that loosen and lift dirt off clothing. The pellets are scented with essential oils.
Vicky did more than half a dozen loads with the laundry egg. From regular loads to heavily stained baseball pants, Vicky really put the laundry egg to the test.
“I want to be sold on it and I wanted it to work,” said Vicky. “But I don’t have full confidence it does the same job as the way I used to do it.”
Vicky also struggled with smelling Spring Blossom on her laundry. “I was hoping to get a little but more of that Spring Blossom scent but when it says it’s a hint, it really is just a hint.”
