HPD: Woman followed from bank then robbed at stoplight in broad daylight

The victim told police she noticed a Ford Explorer followed her from the bank before she was ambushed while stopped at a red light.

HOUSTON — Houston police are hoping you can help them identify a suspect who they believe followed a woman from the bank and robbed her while she was stopped at a red light.

This happened on September 18, 2021 at about 2:15 p.m. in Houston's Greater East End.

According to police, the woman had just withdrawn money from a bank on Southmore Boulevard. She drove about 15 minutes and while stopped at a stoplight in the 1800 block of Broadway, an unknown suspect walked to her passenger door and punched out the window.

The suspect then reached inside the woman's vehicle and grabbed her purse before hopping in the passenger seat of a newer model Ford Explorer. The driver of the Ford made a U-turn at the stoplight and took off.

The woman told police she saw the Ford Explorer in the parking lot of the bank she was at before and she believes the suspects followed her.

An investigation revealed the license plate of the Ford is: NVM0236, but that's all police have to go on.
