HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A barricaded suspect shot and killed him after a four-hour standoff at a northwest Harris County apartment complex.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it started at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Copperwood Ranch Apartments located at Lakeview Haven and FM 529.
At that time, a resident, who lives on the third floor, called 911 because the neighbor below them on the second floor had shot a gun through the ceiling into the floor above just missing the residence.
Apparently he claimed they were making noise.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the male suspect refused to come out and barricaded himself in the apartment.
He lives there with two other adult family members, who got out safely.
Deputies backed out and called their High Risk Operation Unit who attempted to communicate with the suspect.
After about four hours, deputies heard a gunshot. They sent the robot in and discovered the suspect had shot himself. He died at the scene.
