Stepmother found guilty of injuring, endangering malnourished child

HOUSTON — The stepmother of a small child who was found beaten and malnourished inside of a stairway closet more than four years ago has been found guilty of injuring and endangering the child.

Tammi Bleimeyer was found guilty and remanded to custody Thursday, court records show.

A 5-year-old boy was found by his 16-year-old brother, beaten and malnourished inside of a stairway closet.

Bleimeyer was arrested in March 2014 and charged with felony child endangerment. She was also charged with injury to a child the following year.

Her husband Bradley Bleimeyer, the child's father, was also charged with injury to a child. He pleaded guilty in 2016 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Tammi is scheduled for sentencing Monday.
