MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The pursuit of a man who escaped custody in Montgomery County ended in a Lake Conroe subdivision Friday.

Che Humberto Gonzalez was one of several individuals taken into custody during a narcotics investigation when he ran away from authorities, according to the sheriff's office.

He was handcuffed when he escaped.

Gonzalez later captured in the Lake Conroe Village subdivision on Balmoral Street.

The Conroe Police Department K9 was able to establish a track on Gonzalez, which led law enforcement to him hiding in a wooded area, according to the sheriff's office.
