HOUSTON — A second suspect has been arrested in the rooftop shooting that killed two men in east Houston last week.

Rene Moreno, 20, was arrested without incident on Wednesday and has been charged with capital murder.

Marlon Brandon Valdez, 18, was arrested Saturday and has been charged with capital murder as well.

The two young men were charged for their roles in the deaths of two brothers, Jose Aguilar, 18, and Maximo Aguilar, 20, Houston police said.

Prosecutors say Valdez admitted to police that he set up Jose and that he intentionally lured him to the spot where the shooting happened.

Houston  Police Chief Art Acevedo called Valdez a coward who hunted his victims "like deer."

Acevedo said two groups fought days before the shooting and went back for another fight that night. But that time, Valdez was lying on the roof of a nearby flooded Harvey home with a rifle.

He then allegedly opened fire on the brothers and the other people in their group. Another man and a woman were also injured in the shooting.
