This happened around 7:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of S. Gessner in southwest Houston.

When the wrecker driver showed up to repossess the SUV, an argument ensued and that is when the victim tried to stop him from taking the vehicle.

HPD says the man got in between the two cars with the intent to stop the tow truck driver and was hit by his own vehicle. The man died at the scene.

Police say the 33-year-old tow truck driver didn't stop to help the victim but drove to Pasadena and dropped off the car.

The tow truck driver works for Harris County Impound.

Police said Harrison returned to the scene later Thursday morning and was taken into custody.
