HOUSTON – Police are searching for a suspect driver after a hit-and-run collision left one woman dead and sent two other adults to hospital Wednesday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened at 10:30 p.m. along the southbound Eastex Freeway Service Road near Crosstimbers.

At that time, police said a black Chrysler Seabring with a male driver heading south slammed into a white SUV that was heading west on Crosstimbers.

Police said they are not sure who ran the red light.

There were four people in the SUV, while the suspect vehicle slammed into the passenger side of the SUV, police said. The female back passenger died at the scene.

Two other adult occupants were transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

The suspect male driver took off running on foot, fleeing the scene, police said.

Police said he got away, but they were going to try to track him down through the ownership of the car.
