HOUSTON – Police recovered stolen cash and arrested one of three suspects after an attempted robbery of a Walgreens in southwest Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the store located in the 7900 block of S. Main Street near Kirby.

At that time, three male suspects with masks entered the Walgreens before it closed, police said. The suspects held up the employees at gun point and took cash bag.

Police said an alarm was tripped and HPD officers responded. They arrived as the suspects were coming out of the store.

The officers gave chase a few blocks around the corner, where the driver lost control and stopped.

Police said that is when the suspects fled on foot. HPD set up a perimeter and eventually found one of the suspects hiding inside a man's apartment.

The suspect was arrested, while the other two got away, police said.

Police said they recovered the money bag from the Walgreens.
