Police looking for hit-and-run driver who killed woman in Houston's northside

Houston police said the woman was crossing the street when an unknown SUV hit her and kept going.

HOUSTON — A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Houston's northside early Saturday morning.

This happened at about midnight in the 100 block of W Tidwell.

Houston police said the woman was crossing the street when an unknown SUV hit her and kept going. Police said there's no way the driver didn't recognize that they hit a person.

Based off some of the debris left in the roadway, the SUV could be white and in the mid-2000s, investigators said.

There are some businesses with surveillance cameras near the scene of the accident. Police are hoping that one of the cameras may have captured the suspect's vehicle.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or know anything about it to call police.

This is a developing story.
