'Please, don't kill me' | Man pleads for his life while being robbed at gas station in north Houston

The Houston Police Department released a video of the robbery with hopes the public can help them identify the suspect.

HOUSTON — The last thing Benny Rebello expected after moving to Houston from India was to be pleading with a robbery suspect for his life.

On Wednesday, April 5, Rebello went to a gas station in northwest Houston to get gas when a robbery suspect came out of nowhere and attacked him.

“I don’t know where he came from," Rebello said. "It’s, like, uh, something went boom and I was like 'what’s happening?!'"

The Houston Police Department released video of the sneak attack more than a month after it happened with hopes the public can help them identify the suspect.

In the video, the suspect appears to hit Rebello with the butt of a gun before he collapses on the ground. Rebello said he was actually hit twice in the back of the head.

"He tell me: 'Give me your money, whatever you have,' otherwise he will kill me," Rebello said. “I tell him 'Please, don’t kill me.'"

Despite other people seen on video walking in and out of the store, the robber got away with Rebello's wallet.

Rebello still has pain in his head although the robbery happened over a month ago. He said his sense of security is what is forever bruised.

Police only gave a vague description of the suspect, who was described as wearing black clothes and a mask.

Anyone with information on who the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. You can remain anonymous and could possibly claim reward money.
