HOUSTON - Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman found inside a car in a ditch.
Everett Wright, 25, is charged with murder.
HISD identified the victim as Kaouta Domingue, a bus driver with the district.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of HISD bus driver Kaouta Domingue, who had worked for Transportation Services for the past seven years,” district officials said in a statement. “She was known by her colleagues as a sweet and gentle person, and we will miss her greatly. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends, as well as the entire transportation team.”
Police say the victim was assaulted during a domestic dispute just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 6600 block of Fairway in southeast Houston. She was found in the driver’s seat of a car that ended up in a ditch.
Wright was arrested Wednesday and charged with Domingue’s murder Thursday.
