HARRIS COUNTY – The man accused of assaulting and robbing an 83-year-old of his wallet in north Harris County is being held without bond Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators say 36-year-old William Kirchheimer pushed the elderly victim to the ground, took his wallet and drove away as the victim tried to stop him.
The incident was captured on surveillance video.
Kirchheimer entered the Exxon Q Mart at 4502 W. FM 1960 on Wednesday, June 6, around 9:15 a.m., according to investigators. He asked the clerk if anyone found a wallet, then left after the clerk told him no.
That's when he was seen walking to a gray Ford Fusion near the gas pumps where the elderly man was pumping. The elderly man suffered cuts to his leg and knee along with bruises after hitting the pavement, investigators say.
Kirchheimer was arrested Tuesday without incident in the 7700 block of Willow Chase Boulevard.
