Deputies arrest suspect who allegedly sold stolen gun to pawn shop

HOUSTON – Deputies arrested a man facing a third degree felony charge Wednesday.

The Harris County Pct. 4 Deputy Constable’s Office said James Sleeper, a man wanted for selling a stolen gun in a pawn shop, was captured in the 12900 block of Blackpool Place in the Fountainhead Subdivision after a constable deputy recognized him.

Investigators with Constable Mark Herman's Criminal Investigations Division said they found a stolen firearm at a pawn shop in the 3400 block of W FM 1960. The firearm was allegedly stolen in a 2014 residential burglary.

A subsequent investigation indicated Sleeper entered the pawn shop and sold the stolen firearm.
