HPD: Man fatally shot by girlfriend's ex-husband in SW Houston

Police are looking for a man who allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife's new boyfriend. They do not have a description of him but said they will release information when they find out more details.

HOUSTON - Police said a man was shot and killed by his girlfriend's ex-husband Saturday night in southwest Houston.

It happened around 8:50 p.m. at the Ranchwood Apartments in the 5200 block of Gasmer Drive.

The Houston Police Department said there was an altercation between the man, his girlfriend and her ex-husband. During the altercation, the ex-husband allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the man several times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ex-husband left after the shooting. Police do not have a description of him but said they will release information when they find out more details.

Police mentioned the man's girlfriend and her ex-husband have been divorced for some time.

The woman's 3-year-old child with her ex-husband was in the apartment during the shooting. Fortunately, the child and woman were not injured.
