HOUSTON — Houston police detectives are trying to learn why a nephew allegedly shot and killed his own uncle.
Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 9900 block of Aldine-Westfield.
A woman told dispatchers her nephew had shot her husband. The shooter then fled the scene, but was taken into custody a few blocks from the family home.
Family members of the victim, who is a father of 4, were outside the family home for hours visibly upset and distraught and waiting for information.
Family did not want to speak on camera about what might have led to the shooting.
Investigators questioned the suspect, a male in his 20s, at police headquarters downtown. Homicide detectives say a motive remains unclear.
IDs of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
