A Cypress Ridge High School teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Alfredo Campos, 30, has been charged with sexual assault of a child under the age of 17.

According to an arrest report, Campos admitted to having sex with a female student in his car at Bear Creek Park. A parent of a student at Cy-Ridge High School informed authorities of the improper relationship, saying the information came from their child who heard about the relationship from other students.

According to court documents, the student involved told authorities she communicated with Campos on social media and through text messages beginning in the fall of 2015. The student also said Campos sent her a photo of him wearing boxers and asked if she could get away to spend a weekend with him, court documents stated.

Investigators say Campos initially denied touching any of his students inappropriately but admitted to having sex with the female student when he was shown screenshots of his text messages with the girl.

Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. released the following statement:

“CFISD administrators were very concerned to learn about an alleged inappropriate relationship between a staff member and student at Cypress Ridge High School. Due to the serious nature of the allegation, the staff member was immediately removed from the campus. Law enforcement conducted a full investigation, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Violations of student trust will not be tolerated. We fully support the swift prosecution of anyone caught compromising student safety.”
