Combat vets say man wearing DoorDash shirt ransacked their home

The man and his wife are both combat veterans who just moved back to Texas less than two weeks ago.

HOUSTON — A Kingwood homeowner said his apartment was ransacked by a man wearing a DoorDash shirt Wednesday afternoon.

Michael Victorino said the suspect kicked in the door to his home at the HarborView apartments around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

“He eventually saw the camera up there, and that’s when he knocked it down and the second camera caught up knocking the Nest camera down," Victorino said.

Victorino said the suspect took his wife's jewelry and a cell phone.

“I know there’s crime everywhere, but I haven’t personally known anyone in this area to have their door pried open with a crowbar like that," said Hollie Victorino, Michael's wife.

Michael Victorino was able to track down the phone to FM 1960 in Atascocita, and when he and police officers went to look for it, they couldn't find it. They assumed the thief had turned it off by then.

It's unclear if the suspect works for DoorDash or if he just wears the shirt to get homeowners to open their doors.

Thankfully, Victorino said he and his wife were not home at the time and their three small children were at school.

The couple are both combat veterans who just moved back to Texas less than two weeks ago, he said.

He has filed a police report with the Houston Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact HPD. The incident number is 383854-19.
