HCSO: Child shot in head in possible road rage shooting in Katy area

The child was transported by Life Flight to a local hospital in an unknown condition.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 9-year-old child was transported to the hospital by Life Flight after being shot in the Katy area Friday evening.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the shooting may have been a possible road rage incident.

As of Saturday, the child was still in the hospital but the Harris County Sheriff's Office said she is expected to make a full recovery.

This happened in the 19900 block of Masters Manor Lane. The sheriff said a father, with his wife and two children, pulled over and yelled for help.

Investigators said that's when another car had pulled up alongside the family and someone from inside that car started shooting.

The dad rushed one of his kids to the hospital. The other kid, a 9-year-old, was shot in the head and had to be taken to the hospital by Life Flight.

At this time, we have no information on the condition of the children.

There is also no suspect information.

Deputies are looking for any information that would help them find the suspect involved. If you know anything, please call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
