HOUSTON – Smash-and-grab burglars crashed what is likely a stolen pickup truck into a gas station in Montrose early Friday morning.
The crime happened around 1:30 a.m. at the Shell station on W. Alabama and Montrose.
A clerk was inside the store when the suspects backed a large Ford pickup truck in. The crooks stole the ATM and then sped away.
The clerk was not hurt.
Police later found the pickup truck abandoned a few blocks away, but the suspects and the machine were already gone.
