Baby's ashes taken during West University burglary

Police believe the urn may have been taken by the suspect or suspects, who mistook it for a jewelry box.

HOUSTON – Police are asking for the public’s help after ashes of a baby who died were taken during a burglary earlier this month.

West University Police Department says the white urn with a teddy bear etched on the top was taken during a burglary that happened around 3 p.m. on Dec. 2 from a resident in the 2700 block of Robinhood Street.

Police said they had responded to a burglary call at that time and found that somebody had forced their way into the home’s backdoor.

Police believe the urn may have been taken by the suspect or suspects, who mistook it for a jewelry box.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect(s) in this case.
