HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — One person has died after a hit-and-run crash Friday night in north Harris County.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a two-car crash around 8 p.m. Friday in the 4700 block of Lauder Road.

Deputies said the driver of a black Chevrolet Tahoe was pulling out of a supermarket when it collided with a silver truck. Deputies believe the driver of the truck may have been speeding.

Deputies said the Tahoe rolled into a ditch and the driver was ejected. The driver died at the scene, and it appears he was not wearing a seatbelt, according to authorities.

Officials said the front bumper of the truck came off before the driver left the scene.

Vehicular Crimes investigators are looking for a suspect and the other vehicle involved.
