HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A nurse in Clear Lake has dedicated her life to bringing babies into this world.
Lisa Jones is a labor and delivery nurse at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake.
She’s also been a gestational surrogate for four families, including two sets of twins.
Jones has two biological kids of her own as well, bringing the total number of healthy children she’s delivered to eight.
“It all started when I was 20 and newly married,” Jones recalls. “My cousin was dealing with infertility and after talking about it with my husband, we offered to be their surrogate. I had the ability to help someone I love achieve their greatest dream,” Jones said.
The Clear lake nurse compares being a surrogate to being a living organ donor. She says it brings her joy to help couples dealing with the heartache of infertility.
