Funeral arrangements announced for Chief Anderson with Harris County Constable's Office

The chief was a law enforcement veteran for nearly 40 years. Funeral arrangements have not yet been released.

HOUSTON - The Harris County Constable's Office is mourning the loss of one of their own after an unexpected death on Tuesday.

Chief Goree Anderson with the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable's Office passed away at the hospital on Tuesday.

Deputies released information on funeral services on Wednesday. Visitation will be held Monday, April 30 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Hebron Baptist Church.

The church is located at 7817 Calhoun, Houston, 77033 and can be reached at (713) 733-9170.

Interment will immediately follow the church service at Paradise Cemetery, located at 10401 W Montgomery Road, Houston, 77088. Reverend Lionel Aaron will officiate, deputies said.

According to deputies, while Anderson was at work on Monday, he became ill and was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Med Center.

He passed away at the hospital Tuesday morning, deputies said. It's unclear if Anderson had any prior health issues and his cause of death has not been released.

Chief Anderson, 65, was from Houston and graduated of Aldine High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Texas Southern University. He was a law enforcement veteran for nearly 40 years.
