SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Police in Santa Rose, California are looking for a hit-and-run driver who slammed into a 7-year-old girl Saturday.
Luckily, the girl was not severely injured. Her mom said she suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Home surveillance video shows Hazel Conzet crossing the street with two little boys when the car, possibly a Mercedes or BMW, came out of nowhere and hit her. She flew several feet into the air before she landed on the ground.
She got up immediately after the crash and ran off, screaming at the driver.
The video shows the dark-2 door sedan pausing briefly, but then take off. Santa Rose police now say they have opened a hit-and-run investigation and are asking the public’s help to find the driver.
“I think it scared her more than anything,” said Hazel’s mother Candace Conzet, who is determined to bring the driver to justice. “I really hope somebody finds this guy.”
The driver is described as a light-skinned male with a beard, according to Santa Rose police.
