ANGLETON, Texas – Officials at the Angleton Independent School District altered Tuesday bus routes due to concerns over possible flooding.

• CR-42 is shut down to bus traffic. Route 14 will be positioned at the Sandy Point Church parking lot from 6:05 - 6:40 a.m. should any riders be able to meet the driver at that meeting point.

• CR-569 , CR-528, CR-528A, CR-528B, and CR-528C are shut down to bus traffic. A small bus will be traveling FM-1462 from CR-42 back toward Rosharon for any students who can meet at FM-1462. This bus will begin from CR-42 at 6:30 a.m.

• Route 254 is able to access all of Sun Creek I,II and III residents and will be on time at those designated stops.

• Routes on roads not mentioned above will run as normal.

"If it is not possible or reasonable for your child to attend school because of the flooding, please notify the school at your convenience this week. If you have needs that we can help meet, please let us know. Above all, stay safe. Our students, parents and staff are always our number one priority," the school said in a press release.

As of Monday evening, the Brazos River appeared to reach its crest at the Rosharon gauge.

River water overflowed from the river just north of the Harris Reservoir and into the Oyster Creek watershed. The level of Oyster Creek at the Dow pump station off 2004 at the back of the Brazos Mall is still low at 5.95 feet. Officials say this is well below capacity.
