Check the fridge: These salad products were just recalled for listeria concerns

The salad products, which contain iceberg lettuce, were sent to retailers in 37 states.

Dole is recalling all of its Dole brand and private label salads, made at two processing facilities, which contain iceberg lettuce. It's the second such recall in less than a month for Dole.

The 36 salad products that were produced in Springfield, Ohio, can be identified with a lot code that starts with "W" and a "Best if Used By" date between Dec. 22, 2021 and Jan. 9, 2022, Dole said. A list of the names and UPC codes of these products can be found at this link.

Recalled products from Soledad, Calif., have a lot code that starts with "B" and a best by date between Dec. 23, 2021 and Jan. 8, 2022. All 36 products, with their names and UPC codes, can be found at this link.

The recalled salads were distributed to these 37 states.

Listeria is a hardy bacteria that can linger on surfaces in production facilities or other places. Listeria symptoms usually start one to four weeks after eating contaminated food, but can start as soon as the same day.

This is separate from a Dec. 22, 2021, recall from Dole salads processed in North Carolina and Arizona. At last report, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said listeria linked to those salads has led to 16 people getting sick in 13 states. Two people have died and 12 people were hospitalized.

Another recall for Fresh Express salads on Dec. 20 has been linked to 10 illnesses in eight states, including one death.
