TEXAS CITY, Texas — Houston-based developer Land Tejas is nearly ready to open its second Crystal Lagoon in the Houston area.

The 12-acre lagoon at Lago Mar, Land Tejas' master-planned community in Texas City, is complete, but most of the entertainment district surrounding it is not, a spokesperson confirmed. The Lago Mar lagoon spans more than a quarter mile from end to end and has more than a mile of shoreline, making it the largest Crystal Lagoon in the U.S. in terms of length and water shoreline, according to a press release from Land Tejas. The new lagoon is nearly six times larger than the first Crystal Lagoon that Land Tejas opened, which is in the developer's Balmoral master-planned community in Humble.
