HOUSTON — Watch out Shipley’s, Krispy Kreme and Glazed. There’s a new doughnut shop coming to town.

World famous Voodoo Doughnut is on its way to Washington Ave. this summer. This will be the first Voodoo Doughnut in Houston and the second in Texas. The other location is in Austin.

“We look forward to contributing to the Houston community and eager to find amazing people that thrive in a fun, high energy environment to join the team. Get ready to see our iconic pink boxes in the coming year,” said Voodoo Doughnut co-founder Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson.

If you’ve never been to Voodoo Doughnut then you’re in for a real, delectable treat.

The shop serves more than 50 different doughnuts, including “The Dirt,” which is a raised yeast doughnut with vanilla frosting and Oreo cookies. You’ll even find the “Memphis Mafia” doughnut at Voodoo, which is fried dough with banana chunks, cinnamon covered in glaze, drizzled in chocolate and peanut butter with peanuts and chocolate chips on top.

The Washington Ave. store will be open 24/7 and will be Voodoo’s first ever drive-thru location.
