Alligator rescued from train tracks in Katy

KATY, Texas — And now a reminder from the Katy Police Department: High waters bring out the critters.

A five-foot alligator is "in custody" after it was rescued from train tracks on Friday morning. They gator was found along Highway 90 west of Cane Island Parkway.

"Reminder, high waters bring out these critters... 27700 block of Hwy 90, subject is in custody! Thanks to KPD’s Humane Division!"

The police department shared several photos of the gator, thanking the department's humane division for assisting.

On Wednesday, another gator was relocated from a Clear Lake neighborhood - that gator also surfaced following a night of heavy rains.
