HOUSTON — Regis Prograis was born and raised in New Orleans where he was exposed to boxing while playing high school football. His natural talent led him to begin training until Hurricane Katrina displaced him and 10 other family members to Houston. While here, he continued to box and found Houston to have world class opponents and training facilities.
He's currently the WBC Diamond World Champion and the best boxer in the world it the Super Lightweight division...and he still gives back to his home of New Orleans each time he goes back by participating in youth literacy programs, fitness events and finding other ways to inspire kids. Now he wants to bring those same programs to Houston!
He has an upcoming fight on April 27 in Lafayette, LA where 2 titles will be on the line, the WBC Diamond and the WBA. Tickets for that fight will be given to select first responders and students through Regis' various partnerships.
