The Urban Chic Art Show features diverse works by 14 Houston-area artists

Artists Chris Silkwood and Eddie Hall showcase their work in advance of this weekend's Urban Chic art show

Clarke & Associates presents Urban Chic, a one-day show featuring diverse works by 14 Houston-area artists, artisans and craftsmen and curated by noted Houston artist Chris Silkwood. The focus is on hand-crafted works, including wearable art, clothing, printed fabrics, handbags, jewelry for men and women, furniture and more. All items in the exhibition are for sale by the individual artist. The men and women participating in the show are all established and recognized artists/artisans who have a following in Houston, in Texas and/or beyond. Some are multi-media artists, while others work in one medium. Art has become central to design, whether it be jewelry, clothing or furniture, which is reflected in Urban Chic. Five of the artists will present their specially designed limited edition “Art Scarves” in the show, which are 100% silk and made in England. The other artists were carefully selected by Chris Silkwood to represent a unique range of magnificent artistry, including fashion jewelry, furniture and fabric. She believes that art allows us to exist in a better world with color, creativity and self-expression. We suggest you arrive early to the show to get the best selections from the artists, since it’s only one afternoon. You might consider having brunch in the Heights beforehand or lunch or happy hour after visiting, since there are so many great choices in the area.

Urban Chic happens this Saturday, September 22 from 12pm – 4pm at 301 E. 11th St. in The Heights. For more information on Urban Chic, click here or call 713-254-2998 or 713-854-4246.
