HOUSTON — Vitiligo is a genetic, autoimmune skin disease causing loss of pigment from areas of the skin, resulting in irregular white spots or patches. The disease affects about 1% of the population, can start at any age, and affects all genders, races and ethnicities.

Diane Tribitt and Dr. Alanna Bree stopped by Great Day Houston to talk about the upcoming 2019 World Vitiligo Day Conference. The conference will focus on the mental and medical journey of Vitiligo, the event will include medical research and treatment updates, mental and emotional health sessions, and a panel discussion promoting open dialogue about the social impact of Vitiligo. The conference will take place from June 21 – 23 at the Marriott Sugar Land Town Square Hotel.
