The Ashley Jadine Foundation is raising awareness of teen suicide

After her daughter died by suicide, Cheryl Duncan created the Ashley Jadine Foundation to help parents recognize warning signs, especially in regards to social media.

HOUSTON - On Wednesday, September 19, Deborah Duncan sat down with Cheryl Duncan, the founder of the Ashley Jadine Foundation. After losing both her sister and her daughter to suicide, Duncan founded the organization to help others recognize warning signs, especially on social media. Duncan's daughter, Ashley, expressed many dark feelings on social media that she hid from her parents. The Ashley Jadine Foundation was created to address the issues teens face and offer support to those who have been affected by suicide or who are considering it. As of now, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among teenagers and college students. This Saturday, the Ashley Jadine Foundation will be hosting their 4th annual Health Fair and 5K walk at MacGregor Park. For more information, or to register for the walk visit ashleyjadinefoundation.org.
